A few more San Fran pics...

San Francisco pics

A few weeks ago I drove up to the Sacramento area to see 2 friends (Sherry Karum and Martha Hatton) from NTBI. They came out from Michigan for a wedding, and we all reunited for a day in San Francisco (including a trip out to Alcatraz). Fun, fun!

El Paso/Mexico Trip

Here are some pics of my second trip to El Paso since my parents got their house. I spent a week with them, part of the time in El Paso and part down at the NTM annual conference in Mexico.

I got to see a lot of friends, including Leanne (whom I graduated from high school with) and Butch and Pat Bennett (friends/former boss from NTBI, Jackson). I also spent time with my beloved cat, who wanted to fit into my suitcase and come home with me! :)

Beach pics...

Here are a few pics of the beach in Morro Bay and Montana de Oro... That is my friend, Amy Douglas. We are in a Bible study together, we hang out, and she is going to Czech, too!

Off again, off again!

Well, I realize that I haven't posted in forever, but I'm not sure many people besides myself actually look at this thing... so it's probably not that big of a deal.

Anyhow, yes, as my title indicates, I am once again off to the other side of the globe. This time it's the Czech Republic with my church, Atascadero Bible Church. I was named the "coordinator" for this trip, so I've been involved in some of the planning aspects, which has been very enlightening... It has given me a whole new perspective on communication. That is to say: there are always exciting and unexpected things that pop up when you work with people. That's a shocker, huh? Why are we humans always the problem? :)

On to more important things... our team (10 people) will be teaching conversational English in a camp in the Czech Republic. We are all working in pairs, and my partner and I will be teaching an upper intermediate class of mostly 18-20 yr. olds. It will be stretching for me, as I don't have tons of experience in this area, and I generally like to hide in groups of people rather than stand infront and speak. God has such a sense of humor!

As for my long-term plans, my church would like me to stay here one more year. So, Lord willing, I will begin the second phase of the NTM training in the fall of 2007. I will most likely go to England for the training, since my current goal is to work in Italy with NTM.

I will post some pictures here of the house where I live... They were taken some weeks ago when it started warming up out here...
